I saw a movie scene that hadn't been made yet

To this day, I have no idea how this could have possibly happened, and I have no explanation for it. The few people I've told this to don't believe me, and I don't blame them, because it's entirely illogical.

Those of you who have watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will know the scene where the death-eaters set fire to the Burrow, and the chase scene with Harry, Ginny and multiple death eaters that happens in the swamps around the house. This scene is very important in my story.

My family and I went to see the first Harry Potter movie shortly after it came out. I was very young at the time, and given my age I shouldn't really be able to remember anything from that time. However I distinctly remember at some point in the movie watching the scene mentioned above. The scene happens in the sixth movie; I was watching the first. I remember watching every shot, every little detail about that scene, at that time. Even though it seemed very out of place with the rest of the film, I didn't mention it at the time, because I thought it was deliberate.

Fast forward to the release of the sixth film, and me going to watch it. The memory has completely slipped from my mind up until this point. As the scene starts playing, I find myself immediately recognising every shot, every detail of that scene. I remember feeling extremely uneasy and nauseous while this scene is playing. This is the first time this scene has ever been played to the world; it had not appeared in any trailers, I personally had not read the book so I had no knowledge it would happen, no-one could have possibly seen it before. Yet I remember going to watch the first film all those years ago, and watching this exact scene playing before me.

I told my mother after the film finished, and she disregarded me as lying. She told me it wasn't possible. I knew that, yet how could I have recognised it so well? None of it made sense to me.

It still bothers me to this day that I have no idea what could have happened during those times.

Couldn't this be like a Déjà Vu (or however you write it)? In the first HP movie there's a scene at the end where Harry's with Voldemort and there's fire all around the room. It's not exactly the same, but it's really alike, and to the brain that is good enough to think that you'd already seen it. (I'm just suggesting here, okay? I'm not calling you a liar or anything but these kinds of things happen sometimes)

I guess that may have influenced it a bit, but the scene I remembered wasn't actually the fire part, but the bit before that when they're running around in the marshes outside.

This happened to me twice, once in that film about turtles and another one in a very recent doctor who episode. These visions of a scene have always been clear in the back of my mind and its nice to see i'm not the only one.

I've had similar happen to me with films and tv shows. Even books. It's weird and you always get a sense of light headedness and nausea when it occurs.

I have too. Movies, shows, and music. One time though, i visited my grandma in Japan and we rented a movie. We saw one with Bradley Cooper (Case 39) but we never heard of it before so we were kinda confused. I loved Bradley Cooper. But we rented the movie and watched it. About a year later, while I was in America, the movie was being released into theaters. I looked to my sister and said, didn't we see that in Japan?
Turns out though, sometimes movies get released in foreign countries first.
It was just weird because it was at a rental place and not even in theaters there but then it came out in theaters here (in US).

My sister and I both swear that there was an episode of an animated tv show where the kids are attacked by evil apples who are trying to eat them (it's not weird for what show it was), however, I've watched the entire series over many times and that episode does not exist, but my sister and I both remember it with a lot of detail.

This actually happened to me in a way also. It was with Harry Potter too. I remember having dreams after reading the books that played out like a movie to later see those same scenes happen when the movies came out years later. I would also get the worst deja vu feeling when I'd see them.

It also happened once with one of the Harry Potter games. I remember having a dream about when Harry and Ron can't get through 9 3/4 to the train in the second book. However in the dream I saw them as gameboy characters. Then a few years later I go to play the actual game when it comes out and when I get to that part of the game the memory hit me like a ton of bricks. My dream had been identical to the game. I don't know how my brain could have come up with the exact graphics, speech between characters, and layout of the train station years before it was ever even an idea.

I had a dream of a scene of the Independence Day movie..
During the dream, I was a lady with her dog, and we had seen this giant mothership hovering above the ground, and there were aliens swarming around everywhere, and I ran with the dog into this alleyway that was very similar to the alleyway in the movie, and I think we hid in a dark room JUST in time and when I saw that in the movie..
and honestly.. seeing something in your dream that horrifying and then seeing it in a movie is very scary. :P

I also had a dream about Death City from the Soul Eater anime. I remembered it pretty well.. the most awesome thing was when I was watching the series spinoff where they were introducing more areas of the school and stuff, and I remember being or seeing like two or three children that were staring out of the window and vaguely remember the classroom I was in.. It was the most memorable part of the dream, and it happened in the spinoff series.. Lol.

the same thing happened pretty much happened to me with the same scene but i actually had a dream about it. i don't remember it that clearly but i remember having this weird dream, with all the characters in it and there was fire at the burrow and they were all running around in the marshes and stuff, i pretty much forgot about until i watched the film and got that weird déjà vu feeling. i had read the books but that scene wasn't even in the books so that couldn't of been where i got it from... :?

This happened to me 10ish years ago. I remember watching TV at my childhood home and I distinctly remember scenes from the movie Miss March. That movie didn't come out until 2009 and by 2009 I had moved to a new home. But I remember some of the scenes so vividly. I remember the main guy wanting to meet up with his girlfriend but he mixes up the basement with the upstairs doorway and he falls down the stairs and ends up in a coma. And I remember the main guy's friend whacking the shit out of him with a bat to wake him from his coma and showing him his high school girlfriend is a Playboy Bunny. I also remember them driving to go find her. But I know I watched the movie a solid 3-4 years before the movie ever came out. And I never even saw the goddamn movie when it did come out. I remember the teaser trailers for the movie and being a dumb kid I was like "what, did they remake it??" I knew what the plot was before I even saw a trailer.

The only difference between what I saw and what's in the official trailers is that some of the scenes I remember look really different. Like for example the hospital scenes are the exact same dialogue but different looking. Like shot differently and with different lighting.

Oh my God! Ive never heard of anyone having this happen and when I tell people about my experience they disregard it. The movie When In Rome. I remember when I watched it I remembered word for word action for action... And I watched it for the first time with my Mother and I told her... She didnt believe me even though I some how kept predicting what was going to happen next, with out fail... And she still didn't believe me... But I KNOW I saw it before... I couldnt explain it... Still cant...

This is weirdly similar to something I experienced, with the same movie.
When I was about 7/8 (circa 2005/6) I dreamt two scenes from the half-blood prince, which I hadn't read yet as I didn't get into Harry Potter until a few years later. The first scene I dreamt of was the scene in which Tonks and Harry were on the train, Harry with a broken nose and Tonks taking him to the gate. That was literally all I saw (no audio at all which was fucking creepy and the only reason I remembered these dreams I think) and I didn't know who Tonks was at that point but obviously recognised Harry Potter despite not being a fan.
The second time this happened it was the christmas party that Harry invited Luna to and Ron invited Lavender to. This time I knew all 4 of those characters names and Ron and Lavender ended up getting into a fight. I can't quite remember if that fight actually happened at the party in the movie or not but still considering I had never read Harry Potter at this age and the hbp movie hadn't even been made yet, I was freaked the fuck out when I later saw those exact scenes and remembered dreaming them years before.
I've told people about this before and they've been convinced that I read some of the book without meaning to at some point or overheard someone talk about it but I really doubt that. :?

I've had several similar experiences to this. One of the weirdest and most unsettling happened in 2013. I'm a huge David Bowie fan (RIP), and I remember being so excited about The Next Day being released. When I finally got my hands on a copy, naturally I started listening to it immediately. When it got to the song "Dancing Out In Space", my jaw dropped. I couldn't move the whole song through. It felt like I was in a trance. I had heard it at least once before about a year ago. I knew I had. But I didn't know where I'd heard it. I knew what it was as soon as it started playing, and I already knew every word. I ran downstairs and told my mom and dad, but my mom said it was just Deja Vu, and my dad made some stupid joke about me being so obsessed that I probably just predicted what he was going to do before he did it. But it wasn't Deja Vu. I know it wasn't. I /knew/ that song. I'd known it for at least a year. But as any big Bowie fan knows, there was no way that any of the songs had been leaked. No one even knew he was going to put out a new album until it happened! It still makes me feel weird when I think about it now. I know it has nothing to do with Deja Vu or anything like it. I don't know what the heck it was, but it wasn't that.
