There have been new guidelines added, so make sure you read them so you don't end up disqualified.
To enter the contest simply submit a story. Towards the beginning of March there will be a poll to decide the winner. The poll will include the top 5 most talked about stories. The winners will not only be announced on Sixpenceee Stories but also on Sixpenceee. Your story has a better shot at being selected as a top story the earlier you post your story given the nature of our selection process.
Story submission deadline: Last day of February
Here are some simple guidelines to keep in mind.
(a) Traditionally Sixpenceee has posted creepy stories. However, thought provoking and or stories with a plot twist are also welcome.
(b) Grammar is very important. The last thing the author wants is a really good story to be underrated because of poor grammar. Spell check and proof read your story.
(c) Any disclaimers should be made known. Please have respect for other people.
(d) Each user must have a post count of at least 10 prior to the contest deadline in order to enter the contest.
(e) The forum has a character limit of 10,000 characters per post. Please host your story on another site (e.g. a public Google word document) and paste the link here for stories greater than 10,000 characters. If a story has multiple parts, you can chose to have all parts be counted as a single contest entry or a single part be counted as one contest entry. It can also be a two parter in another thread. What is not acceptable is linking anywhere else such as your blog or facebook, for example. It must be here or on a google document to qualify.
(f) Multiple stories are allowed per author. Each story will be counted as a separate entry.
(g) By posting your story to this forum, you agree to allow Sixpenceee promote your story through social media or other affiliated sites.
(h) Irrelevant comments from either the author or other users will be deleted. This includes emoticon reactions or anything that is too generic like "Thank you". It is allowed to thank someone for their criticism or feedback, just make sure it's more in depth to add to the discussion.
(i) Registering a double account in order to post more comments on your story is not allowed. If it is discovered you've done this then you will automatically be disqualified.
(j) Please do not double post. If you want to add an author's comment then include it after or before your story in the same post. You can put it in parenthesis or bold it in order to distinguish it from the story if you'd like. Otherwise the double post will be deleted and the contents will be edited into the original post as is. The most common examples is stating that you are new to writing or that you welcome any feedback.
Story entries for the January - February 2018 Sixpenceee Story Contest can be found here. Simply submit a story to enter. Stories don't necessarily have to be creepy, for example, thought provoking stories or stories with a twist are definitely acceptable.
