What are you afraid of?
And I’m not in the context of college loans, or dirty diapers, or bad grammar, but in the deep, dark, unique way.
A lot of people share these fears, and a lot of people don’t. We deny these things to exist, or at least that they exist near us to protect ourselves from constant paranoia. But some of these things on some type of level, really do “exist.” maybe they’re not things we can touch, such as rape, or murder, or physically to say, ghosts, but they’re all real. They all exist. They exist in the most terrifying aspect of ourselves that we do not know much about and, most certainly will never, ever be able to control or touch; our minds.
Without minds, and the diversity of them, we wouldn't exist; nothing would, figuratively, imaginatively, and realistically. Our minds control what is real, what we see, smell, touch, taste, hear, even if what our senses are feeling aren't necessarily, at all, true.
We cannot tell apart what is true, or false, no matter how hard we try. Everything we come in contact with or think about is just a really good guess of what is most likely happening, but just know that you can't always be sure - and maybe you should not be.
That cat crossing the street, was it really a cat? Was it really there? It must’ve been! You saw its eyes shining in the light, that green, yellow, black reflective type light. You even asked your friend, who said they’re sure they saw its eyes too. But, what about everyone else?
Was it just a dust ball in the wind, and you coincidentally just both assumed it had eyes to make up for what you just didn't see and just didn't know? It’s all just a big guess, and we all do this. What if, in that given time, you actually saw something quite horrifying, such as a hybrid cat hound, or a four foot tall being, crouching in fear of this alien world; and your mind just eliminated the information because either it was too horrifying, or it was just basically something you were never suppose to see.
I assume you’re sitting down somewhere reading this. Perhaps not, but are you alone? Where is everyone right now? Have you ever saw someone walk away from you, after having a conversation perhaps, and then after looking away and looking back, in that split second, they’ve completely disappeared? Were … they even there in the first place? What distracted you? Were you suppose to come in contact with that person in that given time, and if not, did time jump back and erase itself so it was as if you both never even made contact? So, when you go to speak to them the next day about your previous conversation, will they even remember? Who knows? I sure as hell don't. Soon time then would catch up with your memory, and it’d be as if that question or phenomenon would've never happened. What’s the point of a memory if no one else remembers it anyways?
Back to the point of being alone, and where everyone is: Do you know? Seriously - where are they? Maybe things only exist around you, and you are in this white abyss, and outside your window is white, or black, or space. Then when you get up to look through it, the universe shifts its gears to your needs. This being said, are you even alive? Or are you in this repeating state, regaining the same knowledge you’ve had in the past life, just to live different phenomenon’s and stories? But, let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
Now, also going back to how everything exists to the extent that it is real in our minds… what if something like a spider only looked like the way it did to you, and no one else. You can touch it to make sure it's the size and shape you know it is, but how can you be sure your mind isn't playing a trick on you? Making you paranoid… what if just because we believed something existed, it really did exist.
Do you ever feel a tingling sensation, not the kind where your foot is falling asleep, but the tingly, touchy, uncomfortable sensation where you feel something is crawling on you, yet nothing is there? What if it was there, that thing, whatever it may have been? Have you ever tried catching it, and holding it in your hands, feeling it trying to squirm out between your fingers? No? Well, then again, maybe you shouldn’t.
Ever wanted to travel, but reasons keep appearing that prevent you from going?
Ever wanted to get to know someone really well, but you just never seem to make contact with them?
Ever forget something right after you had that specific thought, and even though it drove you mad, in the end you forget, and then maybe in the future remember it?
Ever forget your dreams, and then also remember them later on?
Everything could be a parallel, a phenomenon, a guess, a reality, a hallucination, a network, or an accident.
In the end the best we; or shall I say you, can do, is to keep living, or I should rather say, “exist.”
